Trusting Our Gut & Saving Thousands on Our Septic System

Hey there, fellow barndominium enthusiasts! I'm super excited to share a little adventure

from our journey. I'm all about keeping it real and having honest conversations. So, let's dive into this septic system story that taught us the power of following our instincts and ended up saving us a ton of cash!

Picture this: we were knee-deep in our barndominium project, and it was time to tackle the septic system installation. The septic company we hired came up with a recommendation for an engineered system. It sounded reasonable at first, but something inside us said, "Hold on a minute!"

You know that feeling when your gut just won't let you settle? Yeah, we had that. So, we decided to trust our instincts. We cleared a new area of our property and took measurements from the property lines and pond to make sure a system could fit in the new area.

Now, here's where the magic happened. We asked the septic company to give us a hand with a retest specifically for a conventional system. And guess what? Not only did this decision save us from shelling out big bucks for an engineered system, but it also put thousands of dollars back into our pockets. Talk about a win!

The lesson we learned from this septic system saga is priceless. It's all about trusting your instincts and being open to exploring alternatives. Sometimes, going against the grain can lead to incredible savings and even better outcomes. And the best part? It's not just about the money; it's about making informed choices that align with our vision and goals.

As we continue on our barndominium adventure, we can't help but be grateful for the lessons we've learned along the way. We hope that sharing our septic system story will inspire you to listen to your own instincts, question recommendations, and take those extra steps to make informed choices in your projects.

So, what about you? Have you ever had a similar experience where trusting your gut paid off big time? We'd love to hear your stories! Share them in the comments below, and let's keep this conversation going.

Until next time, my fellow dream barndo builders!
